                               Street Closure – Lombardy, Admiral and Currie Streets

WHAT:  Street Closure
 
WHEN:  Saturday, March 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

WHERE: The following streets located in the 3rd voter district:

·         North Lombardy Street between West Leigh Street and Brook Road

·         Admiral Street between North Lombardy Street and Brook Road

·         Currie Street between Admiral and School Street

BACKGROUND:  The areas listed above will be closed for the unveiling ceremony of three Adopt-A-Street signs on the campus of Virginia Union University. The ceremony starts at 10 a.m. with the first sign unveiling at the corner of Admiral Street and Lombardy Street recognizing The Burning Sands Alumni Football Foundation. The event will conclude with two additional sign unveilings at the corner of Lombardy and Brook Road honoring VUU legendary football coaches Willard Bailey, Joe Taylor and the late Jesse Chavis and Tom Harris. Parking will be available in Virginia Union’s Hovey Field Parking Lot.
