                          Lane Closure – Carnation and Midlothian Turnpike

WHAT:  Lane Closure

WHEN:   Thursday, September 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
WHERE:  Intersection of Carnation and Midlothian Turnpike (9th Voter District)
BACKGROUND: The southbound lane on Carnation Street and the eastbound lane on Midlothian Turnpike will be closed to work on the traffic signal boxes. Barrels will be used along with flaggers to direct traffic. Motorists are urged to use caution and observe the flaggers and traffic signs.

Lane Closure – Midlothian Turnpike Bridge over Belt Boulevard - Update on Weekend Work

UPDATE: Work scheduled for this weekend has been rescheduled for next weekend and the following weekend. The weekend work dates are: September 6 - 9 and September 13 - 16 starting at 7 p.m. on Friday and ending at 5 a.m. on Monday.

WHEN:  Friday, August 30 through Monday, September 30 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. (and intermittently from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
WHERE:  Midlothian Turnpike Bridge over Belt Boulevard (8th Voter District)
BACKGROUND: There will be periodic lane closures for maintenance repairs, construction services and to pave the bridge. Motorists are urged to use caution and observe the traffic control signage.

WHEN:  Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
WHERE: 9th Street between Broad and Grace streets (located in the 6th voter district)
BACKGROUND: The area will be closed to allow the Department of Public Utilities to install water service to the General Assembly Building. Motorists are urged to use caution and follow the detour signs.

BACKGROUND: The area will be closed to thru traffic to allow Norfolk Southern to perform emergency repairs on the grade crossing. Local traffic will have access. Motorists are urged to use caution and follow the traffic signs.

100 Block of S 12th Street Partial Closure Wednesday

The 100 block of S. 12th Street between E. Canal and E Cary will be partially closed tomorrow, Wednesday, Aug. 14, from 8 a.m. to approximately 1:30 p.m. to repair a cave-in in front of 100 S. 12th St. This is in downtown Shockoe Slip. Surrounding businesses include US Bank Corporate Trust Services, Starbucks, Atlantic Union Bank, James Center Parking Garage, Wells Fargo Bank.
Access to the parking deck at 11 S. 12th St is by the south lane of the 100 block of S. 12th St.
