WHEN: November 20 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

WHERE: 99-1 South 31st Street. (31st/Williamsburg Avenue Intersection) (in the 7th voter district)

BACKGROUND: Required for the ongoing construction at East Main Street and Williamsburg Avenue. De-energizing street lighting is required for underground utility activities.

WHERE: In the 2, 3, and 7 voter districts:

For conduit and junction box Installation:

-       Along 25th Street between Broad Street and Grace Street

-       Along Marshall Street between 25th Street and 21st Street

-       Along 21st Street between Marshall Street and Broad Street

For paving and sidewalk repair:

-       Along Hermitage Road between Laburnum Avenue and Westbrook Avenue

-       Along Westbrook Avenue between Hermitage Road and Brook Road

-       Along Jackson Street between 1st Street and 3rd Street

-       Along 25th Street between Broad Street and Grace Street

-       -Along Marshall Street between 25th Street and 21st Street

BACKGROUND: There will be intermittent lane and sidewalk closures during this process. Motorists and pedestrians must pay special attention to the construction signage.

WHAT:  Lane Closure
 
WHEN: November 17 through March 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (daily)

WHERE: East Broad Street from North 32nd to North 36th (Chimborazo Park) (in the 7th voter district)

BACKGROUND: The project consists of sidewalk installation, pavement removal, curb extension installation, crosswalk installation, and ADA curb ramp installations.

Closure Specifics:

- Eastbound Parking Lane from North 33rd to park's exit onto East Broad. (Fully)

- Westbound Parking Lane from Chimborazo Boulevard to North 33rd Street. (Partially)

- Parking/Travel Lanes within the entrance & exit of Chimborazo Park.

- Travel Lanes: Between Chimborazo Boulevard & the park's exit.

Lane Closure – 7100 block of Cherokee Road

WHAT: Roadway and Stormwater Drainage Improvements

WHEN:  Monday, November 10 through Friday, December 5, weather permitting from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm each day.

WHERE: 7100 block of Cherokee Road

PROJECT SCOPE:  Roadway and Drainage Improvements

 

PROJECT IMPACTS: Starting Monday, November 10, crews will conduct roadway repairs and stormwater drainage improvements at the 7100 block of Cherokee Road from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm until Friday, December 5. Traffic control measures will be in place as a detour will be implemented from Old Westham Road and South Drive. This project is expected to be completed in four weeks, weather permitting and barring any other unforeseen circumstances.

BACKGROUND: Closure of Broad Rock Road between Prince Hall and 34th Street extended to allow utility work necessary for the city to continue construction of James River Branch Trail.
