City Prepares to Change Traffic Patterns on Two Downtown Streets
~10th Street and additional blocks of Marshall Street to welcome two-way traffic~

RICHMOND, Va. – The City’s Department of Public Works will begin converting 10th Street from one-way to two-way between Marshall and Leigh streets.  A similar conversion also will take place on Marshall Street between 7th and 9th streets. Once complete, Marshall Street will be two-way from 7th Street to College Street. Signage indicating the new patterns will be put in place on April 10.

In addition to the conversions, the following changes will also impact motorists:
·        GRTC bus parking only on 9th Street from Marshall Street to Leigh Street
·        GRTC bus parking on Leigh Street from 9th Street to 10th Street
·        10th Street on-street parking will convert to back-in parking only

During the traffic pattern changes, there may be intermittent lane closures. The project also includes repaving and new striping and is expected to be completed by April 14, weather permitting.
