SOUTH
CHESTERFIELD – Widening of the I-95 South/E. Franklin Street interchange
(Exit 74B) in the City of Richmond will significantly affect traffic patterns
beginning Monday, January 14.
The
ramp from I-95 south to E. Franklin Street will be closed Monday from 12 a.m.
- 6 a.m., weather permitting, while crews install concrete barriers. Once the
barriers are in place, one lane of the ramp will remain closed until the
project is completed in summer 2019.
In
addition, the following traffic patterns will be in place throughout the life
of the project:
While
the work is underway, drivers should expect significant traffic impacts,
especially during the morning rush hour. To avoid delays, drivers are
encouraged to use alternate routes.
Once
completed, the $1.4 million project will widen the ramp from two to three
lanes to improve safety and alleviate congestion.
