Traffic Signal Improvement Projects to begin on
Jefferson Davis Highway at Bells Road and Castlewood Road
WHO: City of Richmond Department of Public Works
WHAT: Traffic signal improvements
WHEN: Monday, August 15 through Friday, September 30
WHERE: This project will take place at the following intersections:
· Jefferson Davis Highway at Bells Road
· Jefferson Davis Highway at Castlewood Road
BACKGROUND: The following improvements will be made to improve motorist and pedestrian safety. There may be temporary sidewalk and traffic lane closures during portions of the construction.
SCOPE OF WORK: The following improvements will significantly improve motorist and pedestrian safety:
· Installation of new mast arm traffic signal poles
· Installation of pedestrian countdown indicators
· Installation of new wheelchair ramps
· New painted pavement markings
· Sidewalk restoration
