WHEN: Monday, March 11 to Wednesday, March 20 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

WHERE: In the 8th Voter District

·         Bundy Avenue from McGuire Drive to within 75 feet of Chapel Drive

·         McGuire Drive from Hopkins Road to 100 feet past Bundy Avenue

·         Evert Avenue from McGuire Drive to within 75 of Chapel Drive

·         Richeson Avenue from McGuire Drive to within 450 feet of Chapel Drive

·         Hollister Avenue from McGuire Drive to within 450 feet of Chapel Drive

BACKGROUND: In the area listed above the city will be milling and resurfacing the street. Some lanes of travel will be temporarily closed during this process.

  River City Half Marathon Road Closures and No Parking

There will be numerous “No Parking” zones and street closures in effect as a result of the upcoming River City Half Marathon and 5K. Runners will take to city streets on Saturday, March 9.

The Richmond Police Department is asking motorists and pedestrians to be aware of the many roads that will be closed across the city to accommodate the event. No parking zones are in effect at 4 a.m., Saturday, March 9.

WHEN: Road closure extended until Monday, March 11 ending 4 p.m.

WHERE: In the 5th Voter District

  • The northbound lane and right turn lane onto eastbound Byrd Street

BACKGROUND: In the area listed above the contractor will be conducting pedestrian improvements. Some travel lanes will be temporarily closed during this process.

BACKGROUND: As part of the traffic signal upgrade project, the contractor will be installing pedestrian ADA ramps at the intersection listed above. Some travel lanes through this intersection will be temporarily closed during this process.

  • The eastbound entrance to Byrd Street intersecting South Belvidere Street adjacent to Idlewood Avenue. (Red line marks location)
    • Date and Time: Monday, March 4 to Thursday, March 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • The 2nd Street offramp from eastbound downtown expressway to Byrd Street (Orange X marks location)

    • Date and Time: Monday, March 4 to Wednesday, March 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

 

BACKGROUND: In the area listed above the contractor will be installing a storm water pipe to upgrade the pedestrian crossing. Vehicles will be detoured during the closure hours.
