Monument Avenue 10K Traffic Advisory

 Monument Avenue 10K Traffic Advisory

April 18, 2024

Thousands of participants and spectators will take to the city streets on Saturday morning for the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10K presented by Kroger. Numerous road closures and “No Parking” zones will be in effect.

During the event, Monument Avenue will be closed between Stuart Circle and Willow Lawn Drive. The intersection of Arthur Ashe Boulevard and Monument Avenue will also be closed. Portions of other major streets will be closed, including West Broad Street, West Grace Street, West Franklin Street and Lombardy Street. Maps of road closures attached.

Events begin at 8 a.m., Saturday, April 20. Street closures and “No Parking” zones go into effect on several streets on Thursday, April 18. Vehicles parked along the race course will be towed to accommodate the event.

Motorists should expect delays in the area.

~ The bridge replacement is anticipated to complete late 2025 ~

 

 

RICHMOND, VA.  – A bridge inspection this morning revealed severe deterioration.  To ensure public safety the 84-year-old bridge will be closed as of today, just one month ahead of the bridge replacement schedule. As a part of Commerce Road Improvements Project, the bridge replacement was originally scheduled to begin in May 2024 and complete late 2025.  The detours previously approved by the community for the bridge project are in place.  Southbound motorists can travel from Bellemeade Road to Richmond Highway to Bells Road and motorists travelling northbound should use Bells Road to Richmond Highway to Bellemeade Road.
