Overnight Eastbound Lane Closures on EB Broad Street
between Adams and Jefferson
Streets
RICHMOND, Va. (July 31, 2017) – Waterline
work continues to progress for the Pulse project at the Arts District station.
To accommodate this work, the City of Richmond has authorized overnight lane
closures of eastbound Broad St. between Adams and Jefferson Sts. from August 1
through August 4. Details are below.
Drivers are
encouraged to pay close attention to Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) signage
indicating the overnight lane closure. For assistance, please call the Pulse
Construction Hotline 804-980-0084.
WHO: DB Contractor, Lane Construction
WHAT: Night waterline work (replacement and relocation). EB Broad St. lane closures between Adams and Jefferson Sts. Overnight closures are being coordinated to provide the least amount of disruption to traffic. Work is weather- and progress-dependent.
WHEN: Beginning 9 PM Tuesday, August 1, 2017 (subsequent nights permitted between 9 PM and 5 AM) and ending Friday, August 4, 2017 at 5AM. Progress may require some work extend to daytime hours.

BRIEF: Depending on proximity to the work zone, those in the area could hear portions of the construction work. All work is being done within permitting guidelines, including allowed noise levels. Water service may be disrupted overnight while this work occurs.

It
is important to note that field conditions can change rapidly and Lane’s goal
is to work safely and swiftly to minimize impacts to the areas where they work.
The schedule is progress- and weather-dependent. Pedestrian pathway detours and
street lane closure signs will be posted accordingly. Please follow
construction signage and be aware of construction workers and vehicles within
the work zone(s). Pedestrians are advised to follow work zone signage in the
sidewalk area. Travelers may notice temporary barriers while this closure is in
effect.
BACKGROUND: During construction,
the public will continue to have access to businesses, organizations and
services located along the Project route.

Lane
Construction will proactively minimize disruption to businesses and residents
during construction. Any activity that would impact parking, loading zones,
access, utilities and other business-related functions must receive approval
from VDOT who will ensure that continuous access will be provided to all
businesses at all times. All Project team members are committed to providing
prompt information to ensure a smooth construction phase for businesses,
residents and patrons of the region as part of the overall success of the

Pulse is a modern, high quality, high capacity rapid transit system that will
serve a 7.6-mile route along Broad Street and Main Street, from Rocketts
Landing in the City of Richmond to Willow Lawn in Henrico County. The Pulse
will link the public to many exciting destinations, businesses, services and
restaurants.
