Beginning Friday Oct. 24, 2014, the City
of Richmond Department of Public Utilities (DPU) in conjunction with the
Department of Public Works (DPW) will be closing the Floodwall walkway to all
pedestrian traffic for repair work to the Manchester Bridge. Both sides of the walkway under the south
side of the Manchester Bridge will be impacted. Work performed on the Manchester Bridge includes painting, repair and
water line rehabilitation. This work
will continue through February 2015. Work
will take place Monday through Friday. Weekend and evening work is also likely when weather and work conditions
are favorable. Pedestrians and
bicyclists should avoid this area as it is a construction zone. Signage and barriers will be posted to alert
users.
