Street & Lane Closure - Forest Hill Avenue and Bliley Road

WHAT:  Lane & Street Closure
 
WHEN: January 15 through January 31 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. (daily)

WHERE: Forest Hill Avenue and Bliley Road (in the 4th voter district)

BACKGROUND: As part of a traffic signal replacement installation project at the intersection of Forest Ave. and Bliley Rd., the contractor will be removing existing signal poles and mast arms to replace around the intersection listed above.

Some travel lanes through this intersection may be temporarily closed during this process. Therefore, motorists must pay special attention to the signage during these days.

WHAT:  Street Closure
 
WHEN: January 6 through June 30 from 9 a.m. to 9 a.m. next day (daily)

WHERE: 801 East Main Street (in the 6th voter district)

BACKGROUND: C.W. Wright will be performing the work for Dominion Energy. The left parking lane will be barricaded for electrical work to be performed.

WHEN: January 5 through January 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (daily)

WHERE: Along Marshall Street between 25th Street and 21st Street (in the 7th voter district)

BACKGROUND: Placing asphalt patches in the roadway and pouring concrete to repair sidewalks.

There will be intermittent lane and sidewalk closures during this process. Motorists and pedestrians must pay special attention to the construction signage.

WHERE: Intersection of Chamberlayne Avenue and Azalea Avenue (in the 3rd voter district)

BACKGROUND: Installing underground conduit, pouring concrete for sidewalk repairs, and placing asphalt patches in the roadway. There will be intermittent lane and sidewalk closures during this process.

WHERE: 3017 Williamsburg Ave between South 31st Street and the intersection of E. Main Street (in the 7th voter district)

BACKGROUND: The closure affects the two westbound lanes of Williamsburg Avenue between South 31st Street and the intersection of E. Main Street. 

Drivers entering the city should use the Nicholson Street detour or E. Franklin Street for these two days.

WHERE: 5600 Block of Grove Avenue - Westbound

 BACKGROUND: Emergency Lane closure by Richmond Police due to a hit and run.

Officers were called to the 5600 Block of Grove Avenue for a reported hit and run.

The Richmond Police Department is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000. The P3 Tips Crime Stoppers app for smartphones also may be used. All Crime Stoppers reporting methods are anonymous.
