WHAT:  Lane Closure

WHEN:  Saturday, May 19 through Saturday, May 26 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

WHERE:

·         Albany Avenue between Jefferson Davis Highway and East 16^th Street

·         Boston Avenue between Jefferson Davis Highway and East 15^th Street

·         East 20^th Street between Dinwiddie Avenue and Maury Street

·         Chicago Avenue between Jefferson Davis Highway and East 16^th Street

·         East 15^th Street between Maury Street and Dinwiddie Street

·         East 16^th Street between Dinwiddie Avenue and Maury Street

·         East 17^th Street between Dinwiddie Avenue and Maury Streets

·         East 18^th Street between Dinwiddie Avenue and Maury Street

·         East 19^th Street between Dinwiddie Avenue and Maury Street

·         East 21^st Street between Dinwiddie Avenue and Boston Avenue

BACKGROUND: There will be alternating lane closures in the aforementioned areas for paving. Please follow the road signs.

                       Street Closure – MARTIN LUTHER KING BRIDGE

WHO:  City of Richmond Department of Public Works

WHAT:  Street Closure

WHEN:Friday, May 19, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

WHERE: Martin Luther King Bridge  

BACKGROUND: The right hand shoulder, pedestrian and bike lanes will be closed for bridge inspection. This closure will alternate westbound and eastbound traffic.

WHEN:  Thursday, May 17 through Thursday, May 24 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

WHERE:

·         Wilmington Avenue between Rosedale Avenue and Hermitage Road

·         Maple Shade Lane between Rosedale Avenue and Hermitage Road

·         Rosedale Avenue between West Laburnum Avenue and the dead end

·         Sedden Road between Rosedale Avenue and Hermitage Road

·         Elmsmere Avenue between Rosedale Avenue and Hermitage Road

·         Westwood Avenue between Lanvale Avenue and Hermitage Road

·         Catalpa Avenue between Westwood Avenue and Maple Shade Lane

·         Lanvale Avenue between Westwood Avenue and West Laburnum Avenue

WHERE: Chamberlayne Parkway Bridge between West Charity Street and Chamberlayne Avenue

BACKGROUND: The aforementioned area will be closed to inspect the bridge over the CSX tracks. Please use caution and follow the detour signs.

WHAT:  Street Closure

WHEN:  Wednesday, May 9 through Friday, May 11

WHERE: Fairmount Avenue between North 2^nd Street and the roundabout  

BACKGROUND: The aforementioned area will be closed to perform sewer work within the street to serve the adjacent development at 1330 North 25^th Street. Traffic will be detoured via 24^th Street, “R” Street and 25^th Street. Please use caution and follow the traffic signs.

BACKGROUND: The exit from southbound US1/301 (Robert E. Lee Bridge) to Riverside Drive will be closed for repairs. Please use caution and follow the detour signs.

                       Street Closure – Grove Avenue at North Thompson Street

WHO:  City of Richmond Department of Public Works

WHAT:  Street Closure

WHEN:  Monday, May 14 through Friday, May 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

WHERE: The Intersection of Grove Avenue and North Thompson Street  

BACKGROUND: North Thompson Street at the south side of Grove Avenue will be closed to through traffic for milling and paving. Work will occur during off-peak hours to leave the streets open for the morning and evening rush hour. North and southbound traffic will be detoured around the work zone. Please use caution and follow the detour signs.
