                Street Closure – East Marshall Street between 12th and 13th streets

WHO:  City of Richmond Department of Public Works

WHAT:  Street Closure

WHEN:  Starting at 6 a.m. on Saturday, February 11 and ending at 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 12  

WHERE: East Marshall Street between 12th and 13th streets

BACKGROUND:  The above mentioned area will be closed to operate a crane to perform work at 1200 East Marshall Street. Please follow the detour signs.

WHERE:   East Broad Street between I-95 and Oliver Hill Way  

BACKGROUND:  The outside eastbound lane of East Broad Street between I-95 and Oliver Hill Way will be closed to perform critical maintenance work on the CSX Bridge overpass. Please follow the signs and drive safely through the area.

WHEN: Monday, February 6 through Wednesday, February 8, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.   

WHERE:   6th Street between Franklin and Main streets  

BACKGROUND:  The area will be closed to operate a rubber tire crane for a roof replacement at 600 East Main Street. Please follow the signs and drive safely through the area.

                      Special Parking Restrictions will be in Place near                        Polling Locations during Special Election
~Vehicles without an authorized parking placard may be ticketed or towed~

RICHMOND, Va. – Special on-street parking restrictions will be in place near polling locations on Tuesday, February 7, in order to accommodate chief election officers and those working the polls on election day.  Parking will be prohibited in the following areas from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday.

·        Three parking meters/pay stations on the west side of the Main Library
·        All parking meters/pay stations on 9th and10th streets between Broad and Marshall streets
·        All parking meters/pay stations on the north side of Marshall Street between 9th and 10th streets
·        Three parking meters/pay stations on the south side of Grace Street near 1025 Grace Street (Dominion Place), which is a polling location

There will be special designated parking for voters and election officers on the north side of Palmyra Avenue, as the Hermitage Methodist Home at 1601 Palmyra Avenue is a polling site. 

On Wednesday, February 8, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., all parking meters/pay stations around City Hall, as described above, will remain restricted.

All restricted meters will be marked accordingly. Towing and ticketing of unauthorized vehicles will be enforced while the parking restrictions are in place.

                        Lane Closure – Commerce Road  along Bells Access Road and Bellemeade Road

WHO:  City of Richmond Department of Public Works

WHAT:  Lane Closure

WHEN: Monday, January 30 through Friday, February 3, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.   

WHERE:  Commerce Road  

BACKGROUND:  There will be intermittent single lane closures and shoulder work along Commerce Road, Bells Access Road and Bellemeade Road to facilitate underground utility testing. Please use caution and be alert for construction vehicles and workers. Watch for flaggers and construction signage.
