Lane Closure – Forest Hill Bridge

WHO: City of Richmond Department of Public Works

WHAT: Lane Closure

WHEN: Thursday, October 27, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

WHERE: Forest Hill Bridge over Reedy Creek

BACKGROUND: Work has been done to repair joints on the Forest Hill Bridge. As a result, the epoxy used in the repairs needs time to cure. During that process, one lane will be closed to traffic. Two lanes will remain open to motorists.

WHEN: Monday, October 31 through Monday, November 21

WHERE: These areas will be closed to through traffic:
· Admiral Street from Lombardy Street/Roundabout to Brook Road
· Currie Street at the intersection of Admiral Street

BACKGROUND: The aforementioned streets will be closed to through traffic during the demolition and reconstruction of Currie Street at the intersection with Admiral Street.

BACKGROUND: There will be intermittent lane closures on the bridge during repairs of the joints and railings. The work will begin in the southbound lanes, then switch to the northbound lanes.

BACKGROUND: There will be intermittent lane closures in the aforementioned areas as crews operate ground penetrating radar to investigate the subsurface under the streets adjacent to the James Center. There will be one lane open to traffic at all times during the closures.
